I'm trying to put together a retreat guide. Does this all look right?
Retreat Space Priority
1.) Friendly controlled territory in Supply
2.) By Water to a Friendly controlled lakeside town in Supply
3.) Friendly controlled territory out of Supply
4.) Retreat by Water to a Friendly controlled lakeside town out of Supply
5.) Enemy territory free of enemy units in supply (all retreating units are flipped to their reduced side, already reduced units are not destroyed)
6.) Enemy territory free of enemy units out of supply (all retreating units are flipped to their reduced side, already reduced units are destroyed due to being out of supply)
• Never into the space from which the attacker moved from to imitate the attack
• Never into enemy controlled space containing enemy units
• All units, including leaders, that have no retreat route are eliminated
You may retreat to an enemy occupied space that is not controlled by those enemy units in which case you would bump those units enemy units one space and those enemy units suffer any ill effects of such a retreat.
Retreat by Water:
Must be in a lakeside town with sufficient naval vessels in the same space able to carry them.
Not possible if the opposing player controls the lake
This is my understanding. Haven't played for while.
Retreat priority: a) Fewest step losses, b) Keep supply, c) Friendly territory, d) By water,
e) Enemy territory (reduce retreating units or destroy if out of supply). (10.710.9)
