There is no hidden information, so you can play the game, but it is a two-player game. Solo is fine for learning the mechanics, but it is a two-player (or more) system.

All the La Bataille games can be played solo, as the only hidden information is on the back of the counters. There's no artificial intelligence to drive the game, however, and some of these are large undertakings. At CSW Expo, teams of three or four players per side will take three days to complete a battle this size, so a solo run would take many hours.

5th Edition rules up for sale on the Wargame Vault. They are slightly different than what was in Dresden and will be in the Ligny box, but only cosmetically. Since they are a download they are in full color with a different cover. The rules in the box are black and white, with a cover appropriate to that.
