1.) Can I repress my own concession cubes (e.g. after a peasant revolt)?

2.)If so, are there situations when this would make sense (to have your own cubes repressed on an empire card)?

1. Yes
2. Could be useful in order to have suppressed tokens on the empire for a later easy peasant revolt (could be strawman or opponent's empire)

1.) And I guess I can also target my own Concession cubes for Tax (if I want to build up Levies in a Map Location and there is no Concession cube of another player available or I want to make sure that the Levy will be placed that I want)?

2.) Could someone please give me another word for "Levy"? It is hard to understand for me what is really meant by it (not English native...)

1) that seems like a good idea to me. I see nothing preventing that use of Tax Ops.

2) military draft/conscription would be a similar idea. Taxing allow the kingdom to offer land/titles to the minor nobles in exchange for military service.

ad 2.)

So Levy refers to soldiers/military service, not taxes?

I googled "levy definition" and got this:

Quote:
le·vy
ˈlevē

verb
1. impose (a tax, fee, or fine).
"a new tax could be levied on industry to pay for cleaning up contaminated land"
synonyms: impose, charge, exact, raise, collect; rare: mulct
"the government's right to levy taxes"

2.archaic
enlist (someone) for military service.
"he sought to levy one man from each parish for service"

noun
1. an act of levying a tax, fee, or fine.
"union members were hit with a 2 percent levy on all pay"
synonyms: tax, tariff, toll, excise, duty, imposition, impost; rare: mulct
"the levy on alcohol"

2. historical
an act of enlisting troops.

Think of the levy as raising taxes to pay for defenses (rooks) and/or armies (knights).
