We're getting closer to the next expansion, which I've been tentatively calling Leaving Earth: Stations. It focuses on building stations in space and throughout the inner solar system.

Some features for this expansion:
- joint ventures where agencies cooperate on shared projects (names)
- hydroponics to be able to grow food in space
- habitats for long term settlement
- science labs for performing experiments
- medical bays, along with new rules for healing sick astronauts
- local fuel production from CO₂
- reusable space shuttles
- small reusable rockets
- Aldrin cycler trajectory between Earth and Mars
- sites to be explored on planets
- rovers to explore a planet
- space telescopes (interesting, but not useful enough for this expansion)
- mental health risk of long-term isolation
- missions that give points per year for long-term occupation

Looks exciting, Joe. Will this work with just the first game or is the Outer Planets expansion required?

Sounds great! Just ordered Leaving Earth + Outer Planets yesterday, I'll be keeping an eye out for this expansion as well.

Stations will be compatible with the base game, and also compatible with the base game + Outer Planets.

Wow, this is a lot of exciting content!

I'm very interested in exploring planets, local fuel production, and space shuttles.

Sites on planets sound great. Also Venus availability for probes. Please also provide a fix to Io location card (or design two Io cards - one intended ($50) and one with destruction due to Io current and new letter and corresponding mission).
A mini addon for Pluto (and Triton as an alternate!) could also be released for those bored with repeating the same Grand Tour again and again.

PS. Any allowance for the publication of the Cyberboard version?

Do you know about the HOPE mission to Callisto? This is the only official one examined by NASA for the outer planets. Why not to create a single card for Callisto on a very hard difficulty level? (45VP)

Great news!!! There is no possibility of adding some more mechanics for solo play?

The only mechanics in this expansion that require multiple players are the joint ventures. Everything else works with solo play.

Is there something specific you're looking for?

I recall you mentioning that your were thinking of adding explorable missions to the inner planets from the base game, but I don't see that mentioned here. Is that something you're still thinking of doing?

I was planning on having explorable missions, but then the explorable sites turned out to be more interesting than I'd expected.

Let's say you survey Mars from orbit, and you see that while there's no obvious signs of life, it is a very interesting planet with two sites to explore. What you find at those two sites is likely to give you something interesting to do with Mars, but you won't be required to complete a specific mission because of it. So far it's been quite interesting.

Neat! Looking forward to it.

Can you tell us more about "sites to be explored on planets"? I'm intrigued by the notion of treating each planet as something more detailed than just a single generic location.

Black monolith, obviously. Makes you club your fellas to death and/or have the weirdest trip of your life.

Having an AI opponent for solo games, but with game features i think it's impossible.

If I have any idea of mechanics (tables or something random), I write in this thread.

Thx.

Suggestions for expansion content:

New card location: Pluto Planet
Add more ion engine cards (With those in the base game, for outer planets more is needed)
More Aldrin Station cards (The base game has only 3)
New card location: Kuiper Belt
New celestial bodies: Comets

Comets
Have a table with several periodical comets, and their location by years.
They are bodies that are moving through the solar system, it would be more difficult to calculate a mission to explore them, since they move; It is not like planets that are fixed and do not move.
To represent comets in movement through the different locations of the solar system, use tokens (wood or carton)

Suggested Comets:
Halley
Encke
Faye
d'Arrest
Tempel–Swift–LINEAR
