It can be combined propulsion of chemical rockets and ion rockets?

Example:

1 Probe; mass 1
1 Ion Rocket; mass 1
4 Atlas Rocket; mass 4x4=16

Total Mass in Earth Orbit = 18

Eart Orbit to Mars Orbit: Dif.: 5 - Time: 3 years

Total Propulsión for go to Mars Orbit: 5x18= 90

Suggested Propulsión (for simple return)

3 Atlas Rockets: 3x57=81
1 Ion Rocket: 5x(3 years)=15
Combined Propulsión: 96

96>90 : Propulsion ok

It's Correct?

Thx.

Perfectly!

(edit: although in this instance the Atlas rockets (3x27=81) aren't needed...)

Atlas rockets are needed, you need 90 thrust; ion engine provides 15 thrust in 3 years; Adding the 81 of 3 Atlas rockets, reached that thrust.

The other rocket Atlas (number 4) is to take off from Mars, mission "Sample Return"
