Hello!
I was wondering, where do you guys usually buy games from in Netherlands? I am thinking of websites.

Is there also a website that compare prices online?

Thanks in advance =)

This would be the site to compare stores: bordspellenvergelijker. This will also give you the cheapest online game stores.

There is no comparable website that I can think of.

I usually go to one of the shops in Utrecht (4 within a stone's throw of eachother) but as for websites, here are a few:

https://www.derodepion.nl/?SID=pdedrfeb75rb0cj8d7sa44gdm5
https://www.spellenhuis.nl/
http://summoner.nl/

I mostly shop at two websites and two geekmarket users (although I don't use that last one as much as the others):

I take it this is in preparation of a Secret Santa or somesuch?

In addition to the above links I also check out Adriaensen who is based in Antwerp, Belgium.

Little know webshop that is the cheapest in Holland is www.JesterGames.nl

You tell him what you are looking for and he will give you the price, the estimate of when you can have it and different shipping options including pick-up in Amsterdam/Haarlem/Heemskerk.

+1. I've bought most of my games in the last 5 years from Summoner.
Good prices, good collection, good service.

There are also some games on sites like bol.com and wehkamp.nl, as well as intertoys.nl. I think Amazon.de offers free shipping to the Netherlands on select items as well, but I'm not sure if the sender could get hit with import charges upon delivery.

It's within the EER, so no import charges!

My go-to's are:
Amazon.de or amazon.co.uk
Summoner.nl
Jestergames.nl
Mortar and brick Friends and Foes
Bookdepository.com, although mostly for books, not for games

Since NL are in European Union, how is it to purchase game from other countries that are in European Union? Do you have to pay any VAT, or does it just ship normally to your pickup-point/door without you having to worry about anything?

Thanks for all the answers so far, really do appreciate it

Buying from other eu countries (especially Germany) often works very well, no shipping or import problems whatsoever. But you do have to be very careful when reading the product page. Sometimes products may have important information (like the language the product is in) relegated to tiny little areas that are easy to miss.

As for within the Netherlands itself, I agree on the Summoner - fantastic prices and a great selection (certainly for anything in the Ameritrash genre). On the rare occassion the Summoner doesn't have what you're looking for, I'd recommend Spellenhuis.nl which also has excellent service and a great selection (though more family/eurogame leaning), but at slightly higher prices.

The price indicated is what you pay. You also pay for shipping. But there are no customs duties and the like. And you have to take note of the language the game will come in. No general rules as to reliability and care can be given.

Of course, once the populist troglodytes of this age have had their way and dismantle the EU, we're all going to go back to complaining how annoying it is to order stuff in different countries, and that it is not fair that only the rich can afford it. So if I were you I'd order stuff now that you still have the chance of doing so relatively easily.

Besides Summoner I sometimes order games at www.boardgamegeneral.eu. Located in Belgium it delivers fast and without any problems in the Netherlands. Very friendly and cooperative shopowner, neat pricetags and a wide variety in games to choose from.

Thank you guys so much for contributing to this thread.
I really do appreciate it!

I have now ordered a game from "Boardgamegeneral" now, they had good prices, and good shipping price to Netherland, even-though they are located in Belgium.

Thanks yet again!

amazon.co.uk for finding games and reading reviews;
bordspellenvergelijken.nl for availability;
summoner for actually ordering.

I'm not so sure about that site:
for example, Vrijdag is missing, http://www.budgetspelen.nl/bordspellen-profile/friday_Bordsp...
and summoner has it for sale for about 10 euro, a real bargain.
