So I stumbled across this. Apparently four tokens (for haunts I have yet to play) were missing.

Seriously? We will have to print stuff ourselves to play some scenarios?

I am not surprised, given the great number of scenarios. But i'm disappointed nonetheless.

TBH, this isn't an issue, since we have tons of tokens that can proxy. I'll get over it, just like the rest of the warts BAHOTH already has. (I've long since replaced my black clips with mini wooden pegs.)

Wait, so if we contact them they won't send us real tokens? We're stuck with homemade tokens?

This annoys me too. It's their error. Shouldn't they slip some in an emvelope if we contact them? I'll even cover the stamp.

Skills in arts and crafts, cardboard, glue, and a printer.

Not to excuse some poor customer service on their part, but it so astoundingly trivial to proxy a chit in that in the long run I really don't much care. It is unfortunate, and the distribution and notification of errata has been kind of bungled, but there you have it.

You shouldn't excuse it, and I'm not excusing the response they gave me when I contacted them either.

Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast Game Support. I've included a list of the tokens included in the Widow's Walk expansion below. Please note that tokens for a particular haunt may not have specific tokens for that haunt - in that case, players can use any token that they deem appropriate to stand in for that token.

6 Round tokens for each Survivor
1 Burial Mound
1 Fountain
4 Lock
24 Obstacle
6 Plant

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any questions or concerns!

Have fun gaming!

So they're claiming there never was supposed to be any of the missing tokens, even though the haunts specifically name them. This is the first company I've had a problem getting replacement parts from, and it sours me from ever buying a game published by Avalon Hill or Wizards of the Coast again.

Oh, and just an FYI before someone else starts saying again how easy it is to proxy another token. I'll tell you it isn't. I have serious memory issues and if I have a token out that says one thing but means another, I will remember what is supposed to be maybe 10% of the time. Maybe. My girlfriend has to be extremely patient with me when we play games because I can't remember much that has happened in during the game. I will have to print out the PDF and deal with paper tokens.

Yes the response seems odd considering they replaced all the tiles in the game when the 2nd edition was first printed because of the severe warping issues.

Thank you for emailing us back. For the Ghost and Speed Roll token we have a PDF you can print off for the pieces. http://custserv.wizards.com/images/Ops/answer_2365/BaHH_WW_R... We unfortunately do not have replacements for them. I have forwarded your feedback about how this affects your game play to the appropriate team. I cannot guarantee a response back but it will be looked into.

Please let us know if you ever have any further questions or concerns. You can reply to this email or you can call us at the phone number listed below during business hours. We’ll be happy to help as best we can.

So it sounds like they will never make the missing tokens, every single copy they ever print will be missing them. That's....really screwed up to say the least. I'm definitely not supporting them anymore, it's ridiculous to get an incomplete game.

Well, that had a direct impact on gameplay.

It is a stretch, in 99.9% of cases at least, to suggest this omission has *any* impact on game-play, let alone a similar one.

Firstly, let me apologize for reviving a dead thread.

Secondly, I'm glad I got curious and checked out this game's forum. This game is a regular favorite at a game night group I frequent.

Since it's been some time since this discovery was made, has there been any changes in customer service practices involving these missing tokens?

And if you printed them out yourself, how did you go about printing them out? Card stock at OfficeMax or Kinkos? Printer paper at home and then laminated for protection?

I have zero faith they have changed their policy. They just don't care enough about their customers. I actually haven't even brought it to the table yet because of the missing tokens. When I finally do, I'll be printing them on 110# card stock with my laser printer and then laminating them with .5 mil pouches. I might experiment with multiple pieces of card stock to make them thicker. Depends how much work I feel like doing.

I think they've changed their policy. I emailed them yesterday and got a response today.

My email:
Quote:

I have an early copy of Widow's Walk. You have a PDF about the missing tokens at http://media.wizards.com/2016/downloads/widows_walk_tokens.p.... Can the missing pieces be sent to me? I don't really have the materials or the skillset to make a set that would match the rest of the game's tokens.
http://wizards.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2365/ says you can ship missing pieces.

Their response:
Quote:

Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast Customer Service! We would be happy to send you those tokens. In fact I have created an order for them and sent it to our Product Replacement specialists to assist you. They will send you an email when they have shipped it out to you.

As a note it can take a few weeks once it has shipped so please be patient. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us again.

Thanks and have a wonderful day!

There's still the possibility that the Product Replacement people say no, but it's promising so far

I'm not holding my breath. Their customer service has been abysmal thus far. I still haven't bothered to play it, nor have I spent any money on any other game by Avalon Hill or their parent company Wizards of the Coast. I support companies that support their customers.

Nope, still don't have them. They never will, they're still shipping incomplete games.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Wizards Customer Service. It is true the expansion Widow's Walk does not come with Speed or Ghost tokens. We do not have physical pieces to provide for the game. What we do have is a download you can print the pieces out on our website at http://wizards.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2300/.

Please let us know if you ever have any further questions or concerns. You can reply to this email or you can call us at the phone number listed below during business hours. We’ll be happy to help as best we can.

Second worst customer service I've experienced with this hobby. Or third. There are some shitty companies in this hobby unfortunately.
