Hello,

After a few plays, we thought it could be interesting to be able to clear the building and bomb tracks, i.e. discard all the cards of one of these tracks to renew it with new cards.

For example, when taking the Building action, a player could add the payment of a fee ($5, $10 ?) to renew the Buildings track before to proceed with the Building action.

In the same way, when taking the Design Bomb action, first pay a fee will allow the player to renew the Bombs track before to collect to bomb cards then choose the first one he gets.

How does this sound to experienced players ?

Regards.

Renewing the tracks might get disruptive for the other players who may have planned to build one of the available buildings or bombs. I'm not saying this is necessarily bad, but the game would become more random.

Also, I'm not sure if this kind of reset is needed in the first place. Usually there are plenty of good building options available, and if not, the accumulating bribe pile speeds up the turnover a little. Bombs are renewed several times per game anyway - whenever somebody uses the design bomb action.

But if you end up trying this, be sure to tell us how it went

In fact, the Buildings track is the one really targeted more than the Bombs one.

During each game, we experienced a kind of blocked Buildings track as nobody no more build because no interesting buildings were available and no one decided to try to unblock the situation, afraid of helping opponents more than himself.

As a result, near the half of Building deck is never played.

Anyway, thank you for your interesting advice, Turkilas.

We'll play a couple more games before deciding to tweak it. ninja

How would clearing all the buildings and setting up new ones avoid helping all other players? Even if it were free and didn't use your main board action, would it not still free up everything for everyone else too?

If you want to see the buildings move, start taking air strike and espionage more. It is cheaper to just buy new than fix or clear.

That's intentional. You should not see everything.

If you are really set on doing something, why not try having the players discard the lowest building from the track when they pull workers back? At their option or mandatory. Similarly you could just add a coin to the ash tray every time someone pulls back. These house rules should not be overly disruptive.

Thanks for pointing this out : I didn't think that fixing a building could be less interesting than buying a new one.

Hey, theses house rules sound great, indeed. For sure, we'll try them after a more few plays with standard rules.

Thanx again !
