So I picked up the special edition of Tichu on the weekend online (one of my favourite games) and I'm pretty excited for it to arrive.

It got me thinking about other special editions of games and thought it would make for good discussion. What are your favourite special edition game/s you own and why? Pictures are most welcome!

I just don't have the luxury cash for collectors items (I'd rather just spend the money on more games), but I wouldn't kick these off my game shelf

I have a few, Carson City, Aquire, and the Viticulture/Tuscany...

But my favorite for fun and wow is Takenoko Collectors. Great because it's very easy to get out with many groups and makes everyone smile.

I don't think I own any but I would pay any amount for a super deluxe version of Patchwork.

I have both Ticket to Ride 10th Anniversary and the Tokaido Collectors Edition with painted minis. I love both games, so I had to pick these up when they came out. My wife and I play Ticket to Ride with a lot of our non gamer friends and all of them love the metal trains.

I should clarify... I would count the Hard to Find one with the plastic tower bits (Hasbro AH 1999) as a collectible edition more than a true collectors edition...

Just recently "suggested" using 'Skyscapers'-(4) from U-Build Monopoly into this of plain Acquire. What did they use theirs in that version for anything?

Well currently it is the 1960 Games Research version of Diplomacy.

But I think it is about to be the Anniversary Edition of War of the Ring, 2nd edition, once it is released in a month or so!

Perhaps, in LIEU then you are becoming 'touched in the head' as well, or "unwell"? We can only 'speculate', so, you decide, Glenn or Doug.

Just a note: this is not the limited anniversary edition.
This is the current regular edition that's found everywhere BUT the U.S.

The anniversary edition has metal coins and thicker cardboard.
