So i was introduced to X-Wing at PAX this year

and the short version is i love this game

I have looked up multiple guides online for purchasing options for value
and decided on this list

Core sets (Both Original and TFA)
Millennium Falcon Exp
Tie Interceptor Exp
A-Wing Exp
Rebel Aces
Imperial Aces

Does this look like a solid start to hosting games with my friends
in terms of enjoyment and replayability - i hope to improve and compete at PAX next year

Regards,
Arch

Excellent way to go. From there I'd add a t-65, t-70, tie fighter and tie fo. While you'll already have some they come with different pilots for ships you already have.

Yes.
The only thing I would add is a Y-Wing expansion and TIE-Advance expansion.

For now.

Good choice in getting two core sets. One original and one TFA.

Just know that you don't get all the same pilots and upgrades in the Starter or Aces pack that you do when you buy the blisters for specific ships. So...Soontir Fel (the best Tie Interceptor pilot) is only in the Tie Interceptor blister. You won't get him in the Imperial Aces pack. You don't get all the X-wing or Tie Fighter pilots in the starter set, either. You need to buy the blisters for each of those. Same for the A-wing and B-wing pilots.

Just warning you.
