Due to working full time again i haven't been able to keep up to date on all the new releases this year.
Does anybody want to start a picture heavy thread to celebrate the prettiest game sof the year? Great graphic design, beautiful art, nice components...
I'm looking for stuff to add to my geeklist:
The Badger's Gallery of great Art and Design in Board Games

thanks!

Of this year's Essen releases, I particularly liked the artwork for Kanagawa and Capital Lux.

(I've still not figured out how to add pictures to threads so you'll have to have a look on the games' pages.)

Personally, I really like the art in Dreams and Odin's Ravens (second edition).
And then there's the beautifully minimalistic Bios: Genesis.

I guess. I like it, but it looks like I left my copy in the sun for a week.

+ 1 for Bios:Genesis.

Excellent graphic design and the box art and back of the event cards are beautifully painted.

I rather like that it is not oversaturated. Or even saturated, saturation is never desirable.

my favorites so far are Pyramid Arcade and Inis. they're beautiful in radically different ways.

Oh - I like it - there isn't a thing wrong with it. It's clean and pretty and modern.

I perhaps went into it with a false expectation of the wine industry and deep red wines, crisp whites, dark mahogany shelving lined with bottles, etc... etc...

It evokes a different vibe than I had expected going in - that's all. If anything, I am now utterly fascinated on what Ian O'Toole's take on Victory Point's exploration of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in Nemo's War. If VPG has the kind of extreme-high-quality-output they put forth in Dawn of the Zeds 3, it should be very interesting.

Agree with Inis. The art caught my eye long before I even knew what the game was about. After seeing some videos about the gameplay, I'm even more interested.

While there is a lot of great art out there again this year, I think Lotus deserves a mention, simply because of the concept of actually building flower blossoms while playing and integrating the nature artwork into the gameplay (and I guess Kodama - and Kigi, but that's not from this yeat - also deserve a little nod as they do something similar)

Lotus

Kodama
