They snuck that out there. No fanfare or anything. Nice they got them ready to go, been a long road.

I used to own a huge number of the metal ones and they were crazy expensive. So nice to see a cheaper alterative. But looks like we'll have to wait quite awhile for the GEV units and Combine versions.

So, with shipping, that's $42 for a *complete* Ogre miniatures game.
Ogre Miniatures Lite rules: http://www.warehouse23.com/products/SJG37-5001

Or, sure, if you don't care for mini's, the Ogre 6th edition will hit retail for $50 : http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/products/ogre6e/

That makes the 20k stretch goal a bit less appealing, but free extra stuff is free extra stuff.

Also, does anybody know if the scenarios from Reinforcements are new ones or are they from the Designer's Edition? The KS page says those that have DE won't need Reinforcements, but the store page only talks about the DE having the units and rules.
I don't remember any scenarios using the Ogre map with town overlays hence the question.

I was curious about this too, do we have the overlays?

Between the pictures on the KS and store pages it looks like there will be three counter sheets (from what I can tell of the sheet on the store page it doesn't match either one shown on the KS page, nor does it look like the back side of them) The two on the KS page are almost fully visible, the one on the store page not so much.
Store page says there will be 25 overlays. I count 8 city overlays on the KS page and 15 hexsides, while the store page shows 2 craters. If the hexsides count then that's all overlays accounted for.

While I'm not sure if the DE has 8 one hex overlays with cities on one side and craters on the other it definitely has both types of overlays so it seems on that front there's only more of the same to be had.

The only thing "new" to Reinforcements that Designer's Edition owners may not have physically are the "GEV Escort" scenario, but that are available online here: http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/scenarios/

Coloration on some of the tokens may be slightly different (color of Ogre/units) but this expansion was made with the intent of Ogre Sixth Edition owners who want to get more Designer's Edition-esque content. If you own ODE, you do not need Reinforcements.

To be fair, I didn't "need" ODE in the first place either. That didn't stop me from getting it. :-)

Glad to see this but I am going to hold off till near the end of the campaign and see where things are with the stretch goals. Right now there is no choice in unit selection for the Mark V Attack scenario as all armor units are required to meet the scenario needs.

Maybe if 40K is reached. I am in for sure if 60K is reached.

I've backed for now, but depending on how many stretch goals get unlocked and how the infantry minies work I might back out. I'm really hoping they can be used to track how many squads are in the hex, needing to track that with counters would be a huge let down for me.

The scenarios are from the ODE KS, one way or another. ODE owners already have them/are getting them.

Hmmmm, as someone noted, six missile tanks per sprue but that is a $55K stretch goal...

But at $25 USD shipping, this one is a pass for me.

Yeah, that is pretty steep. Hopefully the cheaper shipping prices they hinted at in the first update materialize!

Planning to back the minis and get the 6E from KS but....

If you want your new Ogre game as soon as it’s available, we suggest pre-ordering at your favorite local game store and NOT ordering through this Kickstarter project.
cry why???

And I think no FLGS near me going to bring 6E in.

any idea the launch date of 6E at retail?

January at the latest. We _may_ get this into stores in December, but that will require a lot of coordination and a little luck. The container is set to arrive the end of this month, and if we can process receiving and distributor shipments quickly then the game may reach store shelves before Christmas.

It is in the second sentence of the Kickstarter description [emphasis mine].

"Fans have been asking for Ogre miniatures in an affordable plastic form. Finally . . . finally . . . we’re able to provide a set of unpainted, unassembled ABS minis on sprues at a reasonable cost."

That's not exactly unusual. The original minis required assembly. Every mini I've ever purchased that had any level of complexity, metal or plastic, required assembly. It has a lot to do with how the moulds work; you might be able to get the plastic in, but you would never be able to get the finished product out without destroying the tiny outcroppings.

I have a fair amount of Wings of Glory, not a great amount of detail but still nice. I also have quite a few Star Wars: X-Wing and Armada and the detail is very nice.

All of there are highly detailed and well painted. Some of the paint is awesome and most of the details, especially the Falcon for example, is fantastic.

Quick question. I think I know the answer.

These will be available via retail outlets for the same price as Kickstarter? But we SJG raises enough the Kickstarter will be at a $10USD extra value.

Did I read that correctly?

Retail and KS will be two different prices depending on stretch goals reached. Right now they are both at $30; but at the $40K SG, retail goes to $5 more ($35), and at $60K, retail goes to $10 more ($40). If there are SG beyond the $60K amount, that too will likely raise MSRP. One of the prior estimates for retail was $50 or so IIRC.

They're also $15-$30/unit or so, as opposed to $30 for dozens. Pre-painted isn't cheap.
