We’re thrilled to announce it’s time to start checking your inboxes because as of 18:00 GMT today, the BackerKit has officially launched! This is the most important step to ensuring a smooth delivery process and making sure your pledge includes all the Add-Ons you want.
The BackerKit is the Pledge Manager that will help you do the following:
Pick a language for your game
Enter your shipping address
Select & pay for Add-Ons
Track shipping information (when the time comes)
Upgrade your pledge level if you were a £0 level backer (see ‘How to Upgrade’ section)
Don’t forget to check your spam folders for an email from BackerKit as you wait for this email. It may take a few hours for it to hit your inbox, so please wait 24 hours before contacting support. You should see this email within your inbox. NOTE: The Survey deadline date is currently set for roughly 4 weeks time, this may move slightly.
Currently, we are on schedule to start shipping the Core Game one month early - March 2017 - however, due to the sheer scale of the project with production and Chinese New Year, we have decided to split off the stretch goals and Add-Ons into a second wave.
The updated schedule is as follows:
Wave 1 will include the Core Game and will ship starting in March 2017.
Wave 2 consists of the Stretch Goals and any Add-Ons and will ship starting October 2017.
Although this will mean an additional wait to backers for the Stretch Goals and Add-Ons, it does mean you get the Core Game early and due to the way we plan to split the shipment we are able to offer backers FREE shipping for all Add-On purchased (or selected) during the Pledge Manager. That means any Add-Ons you purchase (or choose) using the Pledge Manager will not increase your shipping cost. Add-On options include:
Mega Boss Expansions (7 to choose from!)
Darkroot Basin Expansion
Double Sided Tile Set (Darkroot Basin/Ironkeep)
Additional SOULS Pledge(s)
For full transparency, we also want to update you on the shipping costs, which are greater than our original estimates. Our original shipping estimates were based on volumetric weight estimates of the Core Game and the initial Stretch Goals as stated on the campaign page. Obviously this was a massive campaign far exceeding anyone's expectations with loads of extras that have impacted these initial estimates.
To help compensate for the increased shipping costs, we will be including a digital £15 Voucher with the Wave 2 Shipment against any future Dark Souls products via the Steamforged Games webstore...this will include the 2018 release of the 'Painted World of Ariamis' Expansion - you heard it here first!
Right now, the £ is currently at an all time low due to Brexit. This has quite a significant benefit to backers from outside the UK during the Pledge Manager. So if you were thinking about picking up an additional Mega Boss or two at the Kickstarter prices now is the perfect time to take advantage of our currency fluctuation.
Currently, we’re looking at a window of 4–6 weeks for BackerKit submissions. Payment will only be processed once the BackerKit ends. We will provide regular updates to make sure everyone is informed before the BackerKit closes.
LATE PLEDGE BACKERS
If you were a Late Pledge backer, you will be getting a BackerKit email. If you did a combination of Standard Pledge and a Late Pledge, your pledges have been merged and will be listed under one BackerKit account.
Your BackerKit will be rolled out separately. We will contact you directly with more information nearer the time.
HOW TO UPGRADE YOUR PLEDGE
For anyone who pledged without a reward, follow the directions below to upgrade your pledge. After receiving your survey, click the 'Want to switch your pledge level?' button as shown. Select the £80 reward level and then press the 'Switch' button to continue.
You should then be able to proceed as normal and purchase any additional Add-On's, etc. you want.

WHAT ABOUT MODEL & GAMEPLAY UPDATES?
All sculpts have been completed for the project and are at various stages of approval. We have included as many public renders as we can within the campaign imagery and will continue to release them in future updates.
As some of you will be aware we’re looking to be releasing updates weekly for the duration of the Pledge Manager in reference to gameplay and rules.
The first of these will be regarding the Exploration within the game. Following on we’ll have updates concerning the Campaign play, a detailed explanation of the revised Trap mechanics, as well as an article covering the mechanics of the various Mega Bosses. The Mega Boss article won’t be too in-depth, because we’re aware some Backers would prefer the surprise… But it’ll give those uncertain on which Mega Bosses they would like to choose more information on the Special Rules each Mega Boss has.

Obviously we’ll continue with various updates and articles as and when we have new information to share with you following the Pledge Manager, this is just a brief explanation of the immediate plans. We know a lot of Backers want more information as to how the game works, and this is how we intend to deliver it as we move forward towards the fulfilment of pledges.
