A couple of questions about range please:

1) Am I right in assuming that Range Attacks alone never reduce City Durability? These types of attack just make Assaults easier?

2) How is the Range of a unit measured?

For instance:

The Tables imply that an Archer can take part in a Range = 1 (Melee) or a Range = 2 Attack.

If a Defending Archer is in the central Gate Area of the Fortifications, which Areas are Range 1 and which are Range 2?

Similarly, if a Defending Archer is in a Tower Fortification, which Areas are Range 1 and which are Range 2?

If a Ballistae is in Zone 2, which Areas are Range 3?

1. Yes, if you want to reduce the City Durability, you have to make assault.

2. There are no range in the game. Each range unit can make range attack on each area. If you are looking on the archers, you can see: Melee Strength =1, Ranged Strength =1, Melee Defense =1, Ranged Defense =2 and War Machine Defense =2. There are no range.

Thanks for the response.

So Melee only refers to the Assault Zones and not the larger Areas of Zones 5, 6 & 7?

Does this also mean that an Archer in a Fortification Area can reach an Attacker in a Deployment Zone (and vice versa)?

Yes, Melee only refers to the Assault Zones.

Any archers in the Fortification Areas can reach attackers in a Foreground Zone (3 Areas), Deployment Zone (4 Areas) and Assault Zone (3 Areas) and vice versa.

That's very clear. Thanks Mateusz.

I wish my archery muscles would allow me to shoot that sort of distance.

When you say "any archer", shouldn't it be "any archers in a tower"?
