Hello all, first time checking out this contest. Still working on getting the rules simplified but hopefully you get the concept.

Goal - Defeat the Evil Wizard without dying.

Setup - Put the cards in the following order - Boss, Warrior, Rogue, Ranger, Mage. Shuffle the initiative deck and put it near the Boss Card.

Rules and Gameplay

"The location the characters are is important. While in this location ([1]Warrior, [2]Rogue, [3]Ranger, [4]Mage), no damage will be done to your character. This is because it is the character’s optimal fighting form. If when the Evil Wizard attacks they are not in their favored location, they get 1 wound."

At the start of each round, you shuffle and reveal the initiative order. Draw the cards in the initiative deck and lay them out. First character that was drawn goes first, so on and so forth.

Now, the Evil Wizard uses his magic to teleport the characters into different positions! Take the player cards and shuffle them. Place the cards face up one by one next to the boss.

The players must now go in initiative order and decide on which one, and only one, action to take.

Move - Switch places with a player that is next to you.

Attack - Deal 1 damage to the boss.

Once all the players have made their actions, the boss attacks and wounds any character that is not in their favored location. Start a new round.

Still trying to work out some details and do some quick playtesting!

Sounds cool. Is it thought as being a pure co-op game?

It seems like as it is described here it will be all about planning ahead to see if you can make the right rotation to end up in the right position and still hurt him.

Look forward to see your progress

Yeah! so far, the plans are for purely co-op. I think there can be some variations in which whoever finishes the boss first wins the game. right now the testing comes with life points and things like that.

Cool concept! Is this inspired by Darkest Dungeon at all? That game's emphasis on having your party in the right formation is what it immediately made me think of.

Oh snap! I have actually not heard of this game at all! It was really inspired by playing several D&D sessions and to me, the most enjoyable and frustrating part, is rolling for initiative! So I tried to make it somewhat of a problem solving co-op game. I will have to give Darkest Dungeon a look!

It's a tough grind with an emphasis on managing the stress levels of your party (with lots of negative mental conditions that can occur if you don't) but it's rewarding if you don't mind the difficulty. Each character class has abilities that only work in certain positions in the party, and you can customise these to make your ideal line-up. There's also a lot of play in using abilities that allow position to change.

Examples: If you get surprised at the start of a fight, you get shuffled to a random order and will need to recover, but there are also attacks (for both the PCs and NPCs) that can move targets around and ways to combo such abilities (like putting a Highwayman who specialises in ranged attacks at the front, then using his powerful "Point Blank Shot" ability which knocks him back a space so he can use his other attacks).
