Does anyone know where I can get penguin pawns (markers, figurines) that would be suitable for a game like The Penguin Ultimatum? I know the deluxe version had some, but I believe that's not available anymore. Anyway, the copy I already have (shh...secret gulp ...gift for wife kiss ) doesn't have any, and I'd like to add some before presenting the present. Anything that can stand on its own, looks kinda cute, comes in several colors, and fits on a playing card would do.

Take a look at Penguin Pileup! You get a lot of them....

For color differentiation, one could use Sharpies to place colored dots on the white portions.

Jeff's right. Penguin Pile Up has the best penguin playing pieces. It's fairly inexpensive, and it's fairly common at thrift stores (at least it is at some of the places I've been to!)

There are a ton of animal figures you can buy that can be used for pawns in games. There is even one of just penguins in the "toob" series:

http://www.physlink.com/estore/cart/PenguinToob.cfm

for all your animal pawn gaming needs:
http://www.thebigzoo.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?Se...

There is also a "tube" series

And Wild Republic:

Around Michigan there is a cheap series at Meijers and Toys R Us but you'd have to buy multiples to get enough Penguins.

Hey, my son has fun with them and once in awhile I pull them out for pawns for my Cheapass games or something. It's win win

Good luck!

About a year or so, a variant of Penguin Pileup called Mumbles Tumble was released based on the Happy Feet movie. The little Penguin pawns are different penguins from the movie. It's really cute!

That's weird. This bit used to mention Shire Games, and tell you all how wonderful we are. But it seems to have got deleted. Let's see what happens this time ....

Faced with a similar dilemma for a prototype, I found that used Legos were the cheapest, easiest option.
