I believe I may be playing this game seriously wrong.

In this game there are 6 "Hundred markers" which are given to players when they go over 100 influence.

The most a player could possible score

If they got every city marker for themselves:
84 points

They got all 20 towns
20 points

They had a branch in every province
20 points

Let’s say the player had a 100 money
5 points

This would be 129 point. How could you every need more than 1 of the "hundred markers"? I really don't even see one needed. Am I missing some important way of getting influence?

Also let me confirm. For each city marker:

One Player will only get the full value (half if he did not have majority). Other players in the city get squat.

I believe you are playing correctly. I have never had use for the 100 point markers. Typically our games end with scores in the 50-90 range.

One other question.

I just tried the game for the third time last evening and I concur. During the game I kept thinking that there must be some other way to score points. I read and re-read the rules trying to find the tiny rule that I must have missed that told of some way of scoring massive amounts of points and I found none. Thats what caused me to come here. I have been trying to search this listing trying to find what I did wrong. The 100 points marker and actually the scoring track around the outside of the board seem to me to be not needed.

To get used to the game I played a 6 player game against myself. The winning score was 33, so I wondered if I was playing wrong.

The hundred marker seems to be for an unrealised expansion or they played it during the game develpoment with full points for a simple majority in cities and double points for an absolute majority. And so the final valuation must be 1 point for every 10 guilders and 4 points for every reached country.
