Already have The Great War but am thinking of adding either In Flanders Field or Trenchzone as they can be gotten pretty cheaply, which game of these two do players think is the better overall and why?

Also like how in some of the images that certain players have adapated the game to be played with miniatures.

Also would be interested to hear about any other choices that cover small scale trench warfare.

I played Trenchzone only among the two. If you are looking for a simple card-driven game of infantry assault at very tactical level, this is the game for one who wants to cast in the capacity of soldiers with no names assaulting opposite trenches aimlessly and involuntarily.

In the first few hours when you are still limited with gaming experience, it seems to be a slugglish slugfest, while seemingly there is no end to the game, as both sides reinforce and build up the defense works.

I would highly recommend the expansion tactical advantage cards to anyone who likes the base game. The expansion yields numerous different games and situations every time! The cards come to you randomly which tax your planning skill. Some great planning is required definitely in this game and the best part of it is that you won't know what's your opponent is up to!
