Once you learn the Timeline / Ripple effects grid does the game retain a high level of replay ability or do you need to add expansions to maintain freshness?

... we play this in its original form and with the mix-or-matched expansions: "Chrononauts: The Gore Years" and "Chrononauts: Lost Identities". The fun is still there for us, even after years of playing it which ever way, with no end in sight. Since the game and those expansions are still available and cheap, the whole set of those three might be a nice addition for your game collection, or end up an eventual Christmas gift for an unsuspecting gamer friend of yours! You'll never know which if you don't take a chance,,,,,

Replay value isn't really in what is essence just a board, it's the hidden goals and identities.

Really need to track down Early American Chrononauts this side of the pond.

I have been enjoying Chrononauts for over a decade... has held up to repeat play just fine. The random IDs and Missions, and the three victory conditions, give it all the replay value I need from it.
