If you have the tile that allows you to declare a temporary peace at the start of the combat round with any player doesn't that make it exceedingly hard for people to take over your province?

Like you need to place a unit on the province flag for a turn right, but they can always declare peace on you and force you to leave at the start of the turn? So unless you have the tile that lets you sac a unit to change a control marker and therefore take control in a single move there is actually no way you ever control the zone?

EDITED to make the querstion more clear...

Q: the "peace" ability that send people home form your province.. dose that work ONLY when you have a unit in that zone with them (as in you are at war). Or dose it still work if you own the province and have no units in there, but your opponent dose?

You can't declare peace with the same player two turns in a row, so that limits it a bit.

not really... as you need two turns to take over..

So the turn they can attack they get in and then you declare peace on them next turn, as you always will be able to do this as if you had the peace on them the turn before and therefore were unable to declare peace this time to stop the take over then they wouldn't have been able to get into the zone in thew3 first place.

And remember it also works for your legions in enemy provinces. If you have legions in his province (with his control marker) you must move them to your capital (or maybe adjanced province you control...)

It's the reason I (and others too) have banned Zeus from 3-player games as he basically gives you immunity - unless someone has the Queen of Sheba.

the worst is when you get that tile that clones the power of another tile and you have 2 players with the ability to force alliances and make their provinces immune to take over.

That doesn't work for Zeus. It's a wonder, not a hero.

awesome!

maybe it is not as bad as we felt.... Even in a 5 player game having two people with that power was crazy.

Don't overestimate "control". Zeus may allow you to keep control, but it won't prevent opponents to pillage your buildings. So what use does a province has if whatever you build there can and probably will be destroyed either immediately or on the next turn?
