Skipping signups since everyone already posted in the LFG thread. Basic house rules, 24 hour turns, all heroes, draw 3 keep 1.

As a reminder, everyone picks a starting town in reverse turn order, then the world blows up and we can begin. But you can go ahead and draw your heroes.

I do now.

Whats the rules of cataclysm, as one game involved constantly drawing and changing special powers/allies [think it was sceptre] --looks like it was 7 scions

I did not enjoy that game and had to withdraw.

Just read this one, looks interesting let me know if I do anything goofy wrong

You know, events really bug me in Cataclysm. A lot of them don't make sense thematically, others don't even work, and in general, it feels like they should be ignored. I wish Cata had its own series of events to replace the regular ones, but since there aren't any, how do you guys feel about just ignoring them? Events replenish the board and replace as normal, just ignore what it says?

Sounds good to me, you could write your own events as well with theme if you liked.

Are we talking about event or global cards?

I'm just confused since you are saying 'Events replenish the board and replace as normal'.

Event cards does not replenish the board, global card does.

I think he means globals. I agree to ignore the globals text and only use the replenish for the gems.

Event cards does not replenish the board, global card does.

The three types of cards are Challenge, Encounter, and Event.

Global == Event.

As for the original question, I am all for ignoring the text. They make absolutely no sense. I wouldn't mind throwing out the Encounter cards either.

So we ignore every event card? I am ok with that.

Just out of curiosity, do any of you guys play other PBF games here on BGG?

Not anymore.

I have gotten fed up with the pace that most of the BGG community plays at.

I've played BSG and Arkham Horror for quite a while, even used to moderate Arkham Horror games, but constantly having to remind players to get off their butts to take a turn removed any fun that I was getting from the game.

Although, if I could get a repeating group of reliable AH or BSG players together, who were willing to take turns as the moderator, I could see it being fun again.

I love BSG and find that 1 turn a day is reasonably well paced esp with COs.

The game I am in now (which will probably be my last) has been going since June.

Once per day timing only works when people actually take there turns.

Once per day (especially in BSG) should mean that EVERY player makes at least one post per day, not 1 player makes a post then wait a day for someone else to respond.

Yeah, I hate it when I forget and wait a day for my turn. Especially when it comes from laziness ("I'll take my turn later" *forgets to do it later*). That's why I like fast games where everyone should check multiple times a day, but that best works with fewer players.

I can't remember this, but do I have to activate the card before or after my roll?

If it doesn't specify "before", it can be used after.

So could my character ability to boost ally roll have also been added after?
