The party that got the most votes deserve to die? That's a laugh.

The Democratic Party is alive and well... even after this election. They offered up a candidate that more than 50% of the population viewed negatively. That's the real problem.

Even so, more people voted for the Democrat than the Republican.

This is the same tired refrain that both sides drag out after an election goes one way. We heard the same thing in 1994. The Party is still here. It will still be here after President Trump is done and planning his presidential library.

This really was a battle of Cities versus Country.

I had the chance to visit Washington DC a few years ago. It's an amazing looking town! Very clean, wide streets, pristine buildings. And I said to myself, "So this is where all the tax money goes!"

It really is no wonder why a vast swath of the population feels cheated.

Why would a man who doesn't read need a library?

I would hope our nations capital looked like that.

Sarxis as always has no idea what he's talking about. Washington DC is number 13 in the US in terms of violent crime. But sure, Sarxis, spoiled rotten cities.

C'mon, that's a weak response and you know it. I'm a registered Democrat and just voted a straight Democratic ticket for the first time in a long time, but the facts on the ground are clear as day if you are willing to face the truth. The republicans control the White House, both houses of Congress, and the majority of the governorships. If that isn't dominance, I don't know what is. Face it, the Republican Party is on the rise, and the Democratic Party better rethink its approach to these elections. One thought comes to mind immediately - while we must be inclusive of minorities because it's the right thing to do, we have to not take them for granted either, and we can't neglect the core of the citizenry, which remains white males. Being dismissive and derogatory towards this latter group is both wrong morally and also poor political strategy. Being inclusive means including EVERYBODY.

Both parties deserve to die.
And I hope Trump, gets some good things done, and absolutely KILLS the republican party, and build something better out of whoever is left.

I guess this is what happens as a nation we've gone with the Peter principle to get rid of a party?

I agree, the Dawkins post was pretty weak

On a serious note - yes, the floor with Trump is LOOOOW - but the ceiling is high (just like it was with Obama). How about we give it some time before claiming it a failure.
