Let put on our political game faces here and predict the next Democrat nominee based on identity politics.

Poll
Hillary did not carry minorities as well as Obama did and the DNC will need to take note of that. Trump for the most part carried the same numbers as Romney. So we have to assume the planning will start immediately, lets take a guess at the next DNC nominee based on their current level of identity politics.

The next Democrat nominee for president will be a..
male
female
gender neutral
Hemaphrodite
Gay
Straight
Bi-sexual
black
Hispanic
white
Asian
Middle Eastern

Straight white male worked many times before too. Straight white female may work in 2020 as well... and I don't mean Clinton.

You crack me up quite often, BJ. That definitely separates you from most of the other conservative RSPers here.

Kanye already announced his run for president in 2020. No need for anyone else to apply.

I am just as interested in who and how many step up in the GOP primaries. I can't picture a Trump presidency going well enough to win over the GOP establishment and fend off primary challengers.

I'd like to see a non politician step up for the Democrats, a known celebrity type figure. A comedian perhaps, or an actor, or maybe even a writer (unlikely). I really don't think being in politics helps the president that much. What matters is stage presence. Just as long as they know their limitations and bring in the right help.

The public is just not in the mood for politicians and the conservative media machine can make any politician look like the devil anyway. Might as well just bring in someone that can look good up on the stage and is quick with their mouth to deflect any attacks against them back on the attacker. Why bother talking about politics at all really...

Drudge, Blaze and Breitbart probably have enough mud on her already to convince RSPers she's worse than Hillary.

She secretly killed people in Illinois! She ran a sex slave operation out of the white house! She's black!

You know how they work.

He'll run eventually, but he needs more national experience (HUD Secretary notwithstanding). I'm thinking more 2024 or 2028 when Texas can be a battleground. I'm personally looking forward to him challenging Lyin' Ted Cruz in 2018.

Hillary Clinton deserves one more shot.

Adlai Stevenson had two general election chances.

William Jennings Bryan had three general election chances.

Henry Clay also had three general election chances.

I think it would be very sexist not to let Hillary Clinton have at least four attempts.

One of the few silver linings to Debacle 2016 is that it proved an outsider can win the presidency. Hell, the GOP was at odds with their own candidate for much of the election. If the Dems don't learn from this and

(a)dismantle their nomination process (& preferably the DNC), and
(b)nominate a charismatic outsider (Springsteen comes to mind),

then they have learned nothing and are doubly guilty of contempt/stupidity.
