Is anyone interested in a PBF game of 1846? I have the GMT edition but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

I would like to. Do you have spreadsheet and map? I will have to learn the rules.

I don't have a spreadsheet, but there is a map available on Board 18 we can use. Hopefully someone else will come along with a sheet, but if not I can try to adapt one from another game.

Depending on the pace, I could go for one.

How would you handle the private draft, though?

I could put up a small webapp for the private draft if everyone would be ok with it.

The Coat of Arms of Clan Montgomery - Scotland. Yes, that's a woman with the head of a savage in her hand, and an anchor. No clue what it means, but it's cool.

Wish they would put this one in Rails.

I think we now have 5:

1. pschorf
2. adambadura
3. alexdrazen
4. Dolus
5. joeshmoe301

I will work on setting up the draft and spreadsheet this weekend. Does Google Docs work for everyone?

Is there any difference in rules between the rules from Deep Thought Games and rules from GMT?

I think there are some clarifications in tge GMT rules. I have been reading those unless anyone has an objection.

Same rules. Just written differently with some things clarified. Particularly for players unfamiliar with 18xx.

Since I'm going to BGGCon tomorrow and will be away for a few days anyway, do you mind if we start after that? I'll have played a game in person then and should be able to move things along better.

My only hang up is a way to do the private draft. Unless anyone knows something easier I was just going to put up a small web app for it. I haven't had a chance to work on that yet, though.

With 5 players in the game you could just ask a 6th person to serve as a GM/moderator for the duration of the draft and then you can just do it via geekmail with no need for any software development. If this would get you guys started now instead of having to wait, I'm happy to provide that service.

That would be great, Mike. The 5 players are

1. pschorf
2. adambadura
3. alexdrazen
4. Dolus
5. joeshmoe301

Via random.org (input in the above order) I got:

1. Dolus
2. adambadura
3. joeshmoe301
4. pschorf
5. alexdrazen

Mike, do you mind sending Travis a GM to start the draft?

Well, I'll give Travis the priority deal without a geekmail and send Alex a geekmail to start the draft as soon as I get home today.

Thank you, Mike!

EDIT: And we should start a new thread for the game.

One of you actually playing should start it so that you can edit the title and top post as needed after I'm done. I'll copy my game start post in once you do.

I started a thread for the game here: http://boardgamegeek.com/article/24404709#24404709

I will create a game on board18 and a Google Sheet for the spreadsheet and add the links to that thread.
