Hi guys, does any of you use proxy miniatures from GW or else instead of busts? Please share.

A friend of mine took the character cards and went to the local GW store, asking the guy there to give him the respective minis for each character. He thinks they look a lot better than the busts.

Not sure if this is what you want ...?

This is what i want, so curious to see which GW models are used to proxie the busts and how people get them - buying certain sets, or ebaying loose figures... or else.

A lot depends on how much work you want to do as much as how much money you want to spend.

A lot of these characters come in kits of 5-10 models, for example, a Space Marine. You can get a box of 5-10 marines, or a single character for about the same cost. Sisters of Battle are currently only available in metal, and you can get them only through GW mail order, as the stores don't carry them. HOWEVER, plastic ones are on the near horizon, so patience will pay off there.

E-bay may be your best bet, unless you have a 40K gaming community in your area, where you might be able to wheel and deal single figures from the players.
