I mean, I definitely say no, but the discussion might be better settled by asking what "Euro" means.

I'd rather not repeat a discussion which has been done entirely to death.

Apparently without reaching a result clear enough for you to apply it to Seafall!

I say the game's American because the pieces are made of plastic instead of wood. That's my standard and I won't be argued out of it.

Lol. Too good I wholeheartedly support the wooden-cube requirement!

There IS trading but it's not set in the Mediterranean, so not a Euro.

A poll is merely a continuation of that discussion by other means :)

Someone else on this forum called it a "heavy American" and I agree.

I'm floored that there are eight votes for "Yes, SeaFall is a Euro". I can only assume that those are people who haven't played (or who have only played one or two games).

SeaFall is as much a Euro as Twilight Imperium III. That is, it certainly has some Euro influence, but core aspects of the game include direct conflict between players and die rolls to determine whether an action succeeds or your ship sinks.

Don't get me wrong; I'm really enjoying SeaFall. But it's unlikely to appeal to people who are exclusively interested in Euro games.

This is the crux a somewhat growing problem... on Reddit's r/boardgames, anytime discussion over whether or not Seafall is "any good", "worth getting", or "for them." invariably someone says: "well, only if you like heavy Euros."

There's a lot of folks talking out their ass having not played it, I think...

I just don't want another deluge of bad reviews from Euro purists that tried Seafall on bad information AND I'd really like to make sure that the right player's try Seafall out; mainly heavy-Ameritrash gamers or people who love hybrid-style games.

Let's get the word out!
