We have an evening coming up with my girlfriends sister and her partner (4 of us total) and I'm looking to bring along a couple games.

All of them seem to really enjoy Pandemic (so I will bring this along), but they definitely wouldn't handle anything 'heavier'.

Looking for something simpler that can lighten the mood and bring out the laughter a bit more once we've finished Pandemic (or before!).

Not looking for games that require drawing or creative answers - I was thinking more along the lines of deduction games like 'One Night Ultimate Werewolf' or 'Love Letter'.

Any suggestions? Doesn't necessarily have to be a deduction based game.

We're all in the 20-25 age bracket.

Thanks!

King of Tokyo always works for our couples nights that involve gaming, when trying to break the ice or lighten the mood. We are in the 25-30 age bracket.

Hi David,

I have a few suggestions of games that have worked really well for me in a similar setting.

Codenames and Mysterium are both great deduction games, I'd also recommend giving Sushi Go Party or Karuba a go.

All are great fun, light and easy to teach.

Have fun! :-)

A few suggestions

Witness ... A co op deduction game....plus I'm sure it'll provide some laughs

La boca fast fun and easy....sorta co op tetris ish...though I'm not sure if its still in print.

King of tokyo standard go to answer.

Or you can always go with the go to favourite in Codenames ...it doesn't dissapoint in my opinion.

Great suggestion! I also love this game, however, I'm unsure they'll be into the whole fighting/monsters/health type game.

I'll bring it along just in case though

Unless these people are robots, Codenames should be the right answer.

Do you have anything simple like taboo or scattergories, we always have fun with them.

Codenames is a great partnership game.

Junk Art is very appealing and a lot of fun.

Clank! is a very fun deckbuilder-with-a-board. And a dragon! We just played it last weekend on our couples night and had a blast. Only two turns in and the other woman insisted that they buy this game as well :-)

You fell in a pit on the first turn. Good job!

You mentioned Love Letter in your OP, which is a great game for this kind of situation. Bring that.

I saw King of Tokyo mentioned a few times and would agree with that. It usually does a good job of lightening the mood. I would also agree with Love Letter and as another option suggest Coup.

We had a couples night with T.I.M.E Stories a while ago (it's perfect with 4) and plan to do it again with the same couple next month with one of the expansion. It was definitely a lot of fun, but you presumably won't have time for any other game/activity...

Survive!

or

Takenoko

always do well on our "couples" nights. Lighter games, but fun.
