Thank you Thank you everyone that asked me questions and added a bright spot to my week! What a week to be The Geek, am I right? Still, if was fun! Thank you again

I nominate Your Moderator... Chris Michaud!

Flip the Table is a podcast that does the real hard work in board gaming – reviewing all the charity shop and savage games they can find. Chris is the moderator over at Flip the Table and is one of the hardest working guys in board gaming. Anyone can play the latest hot titles, but it takes true grit to dig into that copy of Hello Kitty Best Friends, where 'everyone wins because togetherness brings happiness!' Well everyone will win this week with Chris at the helm!

"Chris Michaud (better known to the gaming community as "Your Moderator Chris") is the creator and producer of Flip the Table, a podcast about cheesy, weird and obscure board games. Since 2012, FTT has reviewed a strange menagerie of VCR games, licensed games, and beyond...combining the tone of MST3K with serious game design discussion (and even a fully-fledged game show at the end of every episode). The show will celebrate its 100th episode this week, which you can find at tableflipsyou.com and in all the usual places you get podcasts. When he is not playing the weirdest games of all time for your entertainment, Chris enjoys pinball, pro wrestling, Doctor Who, raising a soon to be two year old, and playing games with his fiercest rival, Mrs. Moderator Chris. He will also be available for his dream job in the game industry very soon, if you're hiring!

Two truths and a lie...

-Chris fancies himself an expert driver, and refuses to use automatic transmission.

-Chris is so obsessed with editing, he sometimes orders coffee black at Dunkin' Donuts, then dresses it with milk and Splenda himself at home.

-Chris proposed to his wife in the most romantic way possible, via Facebook post.

Congrats on your geek of the week nomination, Chris!

What's the first boardgame you ever remember playing? Would it be worthy of the Flip the Table show?...

Congratulations Chris!
Have a great week!

My usual question: Have you a favorite wizard? If so, who? If not, why? And which game (if any) is he/she from?

Congratulations Chris! You are a wonderful voice in our hobby and a very worthy Geek of the Week. Thanks for everything you do.

Now for questions!

1) Do you think a time will ever come when there aren't enough cheesy or obscure games to continue with FTT's current format and if so, what would you do with the show after that point?

2) What game (of any type) do you love the most that is the most outside of your typical favorites (something that people probably wouldn't guess you love even if they generally know your gaming habits)?

I can't remember if Scrabble or Monopoly was first. We did "TV Scrabble" on the show before, so maybe that counts? As far as Monopoly, maybe if there was a DVD version...

Harry Dresden. I used to be really heavily into those books. Though I must confess, I fell off the wagon after "Changes." The book was great, I just don't have much time for leisure reading these days.

1) We bought a house this summer in part to have a place to store all the bad games. Bad games will break us first, I assure you!

2) Holmes: Sherlock & Mycroft is both a new, hot game and a worker placement game...neither of which I'm known to drool over. But it's a real jewel!

Ah, ah, I have another question!

What's your favourite food item on the McDonald's menu? (Any McDonald's counts, so that super-duper one you guys went to that served pizza and pasta and the like can be included)

Hi Chris, long time listener, one time Screamy Pawn carer, first time geek of the week questioner.

Which cherished gem of modern gaming as we know it... would you review on FTT, as you actually think it's an awful, awful game?

First, the whole reason I make media is because of the work you have done, I am so happy for you, this is well deserved.

Now.....

What is your favorite sport to watch?
What audio shows have been the biggest influence on your work?

Thanks for caring about Screamy!

We get this question probably every year...and I think folks expect us to say something like, "MAN, WE'RE GONNA TAKE DOWN THOSE CARCASSONE JERKS!"

But really, we don't necessarily chase awful...there's plenty of that. We chase "Cheesy, Weird, and Obscure." So if you twisted my arm, I might say Millennium Blades, because that has paper money and a crazy theme. Good game, that one!

I like watching baseball...though I strongly prefer to watch it live, because junk food and fresh air.

There was a show way, way back called "Double Cross"; it was a game show in podcast format, and the style of production is a direct influence on how we did things for the Battle of Wits. It also informed our 3 act style with breaks in-between.

Congratulations, Chris!

My normal three questions for GotW are:

Whats the best game you've ever only played once?

Whats the best game you've ever only played twice?

Whats the best game you've ever only played three times?

But since you produce the Flip the Table podcast (one I listen to regularly), I'm asking you three more questions!

Whats the worst game you've ever played?

Whats the second worst game you've ever played?

Whats the third worst game you've ever played?

On the podcast, you often talk about how the games you play can be improved to be brought more in line with modern games, but lets flip the script on that - What three lessons do you think modern games could learn from the games you play for the podcast?

What modern staple of gaming do you most wish had a cheesy, weird, or obscure theme to it, and what theme?

Do you have plans on playing any of the games from the podcast with your child at some point, unironically?

What game did you play for the podcast that surprised you most? Answer for both how fun you found the game, and in terms of how 'modern' feeling the game was considering when it was made, please.

With the increasing amount of iPad integration into board games, would you want to see the return of Atmosfear style VHS games using the iPad (including it's ability to randomize what video clip interruptions you get), or are some things best left in the past?

And one more minutea based on something that came up in an episode a few episodes ago that I didn't think to ask in the thread for it since I hadn't gotten round to trying this then: You had a brief discussion of Danger Mouse as part of the Battle of Wits at one point. Have you seen any of the 2015 reboot of the show? If so, what do you think of it?
