Of course, a grognard would end up naming his kids, Chit, ZOC and CRT.

Oooh, I feel a geeklist coming on. Everyone duck and hide!

And after reading the grammatical controversy, i asked our English teacher at our school.

In her opinion that sentence can only mean " .. more than (you love) US"

And the other meaning would have to be formed with WE "... more than WE (do)"

Hmm. Did you ask the teacher about "taller than me/shorter than him"?

There's a couple at the game group that was talking about getting a cat. husband - "we should name it puerto rico!" wife - "no dear". The rest of us started suggesting other games. I'm not sure if meeple was suggested or not, but I think that would work for a cat (or other pet).
A good friend of mine (BGG user faqtotum) got two kitten for his daughters last year, and was able to name them Tigris and Euphrates, without too much complaining from them, to our surprise.
This actually popped into my head as possible names for sibling cats. Just sounds good.

Of course, most people would hear 'tigris' as 'tigress', female tiger. (is that spelled right?)

You know, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that there's a kid out there named Meeple. After all, parents name their kids after their obsessions all the time, why not boardgames?

I agree. I am waiting for my son to get old enough to be mad when he realizes he was named after a teddy bear.

Great cartoon! Meeple and cube is a stretch for a name but works well with the cartoon. Caylus would actually be a pretty name.

What is your son's/teddy bear's name?

Bailey. At least it's a normal name though.

Well, Bailey is a common dog's name....I actually have a beagle named Bailey..If I had that name, I'd be more concerned with that

Although she has a normal name, my wife was named after a certain character in Dr. Zhivago, and apparently that wasn't too unusual a thing at the time.

Hmmm... Lara?
I don't think it's "Yuri"

Could be Tonya. I have met many a Tonya named from Dr. Zhivago, including my own wife.

My wife hates Dr. Zhivago, by the way. She says at least she's named after the good wife and not named after the adulteress.
