I find it very difficult to play the paladin build in this new expansion. I keep losing and I can't find the synergy effects in his different equipment and creatures.

Do you have any good advice on his to play the Paladin effectively?

The Paladin is tricky. When I play the Paladin, I try to decide which auras I'm going to want that game, and then I focus my play around using those actions and generating valor. Unlike previous Mages the Paladin doesn't have a straight opening you should use. You'll just have to experiment with him. I would check out the Mage Wars forums over at www.arcanewonders.com as they've been discussing the Paladin and Siren a lot.

I changed around his build a bit. The Battleforge helps a LOT. Being able to be mobile to physically strike while your forge drops armor after armor on you is great. Also I like to have my paladin get in the thick of things and then pay 2 mana from his chest piece to go on guard after activation.
The consecrated grounds will help your holy guys with some minor regenerating allowing them to stay alive a little longer while fighting the good fight too.

One thing that helped round out my paladin book big time was the priestess from Mage wars academy. There is a lot of nice little cards to round out your book.
