i wish the female characters would've been a little more gentle or feminine. they are all pretty scary, intimidating, aggresive and so forth. sad for me.

and to extract the subtext of my joke comment... it's a game, it's fantasy, it's art.
and even if it was reality, they are still females.

Let me rephrase that...

They are depicting female warriors at war.

It seems perfectly correct to depict them as strong and confident.

Well .. not if the males all look like they are on a flower collecting quest .. :-)

This is war. I already think the females look a lot more vulnerable than the males, generally.

The first thing that crossed my mind reading the first post was that Teowulff wouldn't agree, and then I see he doesn't! lol. Can't please all the people all the time . As long as there's enough there that does please that's the main thing.

I understand your point of view. But Mythic Battles: Pantheon takes place in a post apocalyptical world full of epic combats… if you want a chance to survive in this world you have to be scary, intimidating and aggressive

I've no problem with impressive/aggressive female characters, they would want to survive just as much as their male counterparts.

One thing that i like about Greek mythology is that while the gods are powerful in their domain, they not perfect as a whole, and sometimes downright stupid and childish. They are also both good and evil depending on the occasion. Basically, they have flaws of character, rather than form, and we see Odysseus exploit these very well.

In a post-apocalyptic setting, i am pretty sure we'd see the meanier, angrier aspect of these gods showing up.

A bit off topic, but I've seen comments around about nudity of female and male characters, and how it's offensive to some and not to others:

Greek society worshipped the human body of both genders in its strongest form, hence the olympic games celebrating (mostly) physical accomplishment. The gods represented perfect shape and/or skill, and i believe that's why there's so much nudity in the artwork. There's also a difference between pornographic representation and greek depiction of nudity, which is why society accepts greek nude statues far easier and in more places than any other nude representation. We call it classical for a reason.

I for one am happy to see females break the mold a bit in this game.
In so many games, males can be both ugly and attractive, but so often, females are all pretty and attractive. It is nice to see women as a bit on the rough side.
I approve.
