Great idea!
I was using the roads from Settlers, but this is much quicker...

To each their own, but their movement system is kindergarten level to understand where you move to, not complicated.

Id personally rather not have tooth picks/roads all over the table when I can look at a shape and color and match is up in 1 second.

I drew lines on a piece of paper and stuck it under the locations in scenario 2. It greatly helped speed up decision making. Toothpicks is a nice idea.

Yeah moving isn't hard to work out with the symbols, but when everyone is stressed because scenario two is kicking their butts why not just make it trivial.

I have found that players do start to assume our card layout implies connections before investigating the symbols (especially when under stressful decision making) and scenario two has no good way to lay out the locations just by connection because of the large number of locations. the suggested grid layout will put many locations that don't connect adjacent to each other.

I just use a sharpie and scotch tape, but I admit epoxy might work better.

Please note that in some scenarios (like 2 & 3) there can be one-way roads between locations, so to speak, so toothpicks won't give an accurate map of the travel possibilities.

After which, surreal prose gets lost in surreal tomes.

I'm visually impaired and can't distinguish colour well, so the toothpick idea will help me a little, but you're right to be proud of your lightning-fast shape- and colour-matching skills, old boy.

Well done!
