Hi, this is the 'Work in Progress' thread for a game I am developing named 'Factions: Fight for Atheros'.

What is Factions: Fight for Atheros?
'Factions: Fight for Atheros' is a fast paced, two-player, strategy game where all the cards on the table. Your job is to amass a team of powerful warriors and destroy your opponent’s stronghold by any means necessary. Whether that means out thinking your opponent, trampling them with pure power, or bluffing your way to victory.

The game has been in development on-and-off for a number of years now, and has changed a lot since its initial idea phase. Feedback from players has shaped the game to be what we intended to create. An easy to learn, short, fun strategy game which can be played competitively. Matches last between 5 and 15 minutes dependant on experience and knowledge of the cards.

Distribution model
To keep 'Factions: fight for Atheros' fun and fair we decided that we will go with the ECG/LCG model. This means all cards are always available to everyone.
We don't think it is fair to release the cards through randomised booster packs as players would end up paying for cards they don't need, want or already own. Our intention is to expand the game through expansions.

The initial release will consist of a deck building bundle containing 3 faction decks which have 10 character cards from each faction. This will give players the opportunity to combine their favourite cards from each deck to create a single super powerful deck, or play with friends straight out of the box.

Just added box art mockup. The card mockups should be available later today, too.

We have finished making changes based on the last lot of feedback. The rule book and PnP should be available next week to allow further pay testing.

Re: Factions: Fight for Atheros
Added the cards for the three Factions champions.

I will alter the image at some point to be consistent with transparency and shadowing.

Added a quick deck building section to the rule book to clarify some points.

Whole rewrite is still needed as I'm not happy with it at the moment.

Ok: Your first sentence ("'Factions: Fight for Atheros' is a fast paced, two-player, strategy game where all the cards on the table.") contains an error which immediately sets a negative tone for people who are checking out what otherwise might be an awesome game.

All the best with you design!

Thanks for your feedback, but I don't understand why it's a negative.

Can you explain what you mean, please?

I reckon he means it should be "where all the cards are on the table."
