Excellent article on why Evangelicals and other Christians went Trumpward:

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/442286/donald-trump-li...

I for one didn't see Trump as a 'last' option: I know very well the times and seasons we live in. He is the right man for this time.

People who voted for that turd should just own up to it. No 'you made me do that bad thing I did'. Responsibility for your own actions and all that, dear conservatives.

From here it looks like you voted for him because the voices told you to. The voices move in mysterious ways and are not beholden to the liberals, rationalism, etc.

I'll 'concur' on NOT wanting HRC since due with her 'flaky background' yet Pres.TRUMP has proven little about himself other than "contradictory behaviors" of which is 'croissant flaky' at BEST. whistle

And you think we are ashamed or something? Not one bit.

Keep calling it how you see it, we'll keep calling it how we see it, and ne'er the twain shall meet.

Fuck National Review. They came out hard against Trump and pontificated for months about all the reasons he would lose.

Now they're the experts? Darlings of RSP? Fuck those out of touch clowns.

Oh single sentences - I saw your name come up for the thread and wondered what you would say THIS time.

You did not fail to disappoint. At least you are consistent.

There was an election a few days ago? Did you miss something? Christians stayed home in greater numbers than in the past. More blacks and Hispanics voted republican this year. He had fewer white votes than previous republicans. Trump won with moderates and defections.

Ok, maybe that's true. I haven't seen any stats to that effect.

Maybe I'm just different. Maybe it's precisely because I do spend time on the internet in places like RSP where I get to read the rhetoric from the left firsthand.

Heck, I wasn't even registered to vote until close to the end of the primaries. And that's when I knew - it was time. The hour had come for a paradigm shift.

This Had to Happen.

Evangelicals did not trust a long time democrat and supporter of abortion.

I dare say that you never once, not a single time, heard the talking heads ponder and speculate about what the candidates were going to do to appeal to those all important moderates this cycle. Why? The moderates are always the story in a presidential election. Nothing else even matters. What will the candidates do to attract the dumb ass moderates is always the media mantra.

There was none this cycle because Trump had the moderates. They broke for him in the primary. They gave him the primary and their support only strengthened throughout the campaign.

Republicans were the people who stayed home.

State after state Trump got more votes than the other repubs on the ballot.

National Review never saw that coming. They thought republicans would win those elections despite Trump. The info was there for anyone to see for months.

National Review needs to be completely ignored for the next 4 years. They are no better than Young Turds at this point.

Sue me, I still like National Review. Their writing is still top notch and I get their reservations.

But yes, Trump has made tentative friendly noises towards religious rights and liberty.

Hillary was going to continue in the Obama vein, doing her best to take aim at the same.

For Christians, there really was very little choice.

For the ones paying attention anyway.

I wonder how many Christians who voted for an unrepentent perverted, borderline pedophile, violence espousing, opposite-christ (not quite anti-christ, you secret Armageddon embracers) would return from the polls and refuse to decorate a cake for a gay couple.
