Subject: After Being Wiped Off 2 Species Board or 1 Species Board rss

Maybe I missed it out on the rules
somewhere. So in climate we start with
2 species. If we get wiped out do we
start back with 2 species or 1?

Indeed. Page 4 of the rules show all players with just 1 species in the set-up picture and page 5 says:
Quote:
If this is the first round of the game, then every player will get a free species.


However, back to the OP. Page 5 also says:
Quote:
Place a free Species Board in front of all players who do not have one.

I wonder if the OP is misreading "If this is the first round of the game, then every player will get a free species" as everyone getting a second species?

There's no step in setup for everyone to get a species board, so this is is saying that on the first round, since nobody has a species yet, everyone will get one, in line with the normal rules.
