Hi.
So I've just had my first 2-player game tonight, and questions came up about the neutral subs.
Do you use BOTH "neutral" colors? And if so, do you completely empty one before going to the next one when placing subs in between rounds? It matters because the rulebook says that if there's already a neutral sub of a certain color deployed, you move to the next empty space in clockwise order. If you draw randomly, you could possibly have 2 different neutral subs in the same sector by round 3. Otherwise, if you have to wait and empty all the subs from one neutral color first, then you would to wait to round 4 to get 2 neutral subs in the same sector.

Also, when you get immediate points (catching Octopods or buying cards), do you also have to pay crystals to cross red lines?

Finally, when you remove Bots from a loading station, you DON'T get time markers, correct?

Thank you!

Yes, you use both neutral colours randomly, but according to the rules. So if you need to put a second neutral sub one area, it can't be of the same colour. Once there are two neutral subs in one section, then the clockwise rule comes into play.

Yes, you need a crystal anytime you need to cross a laser, or unprogram a bot. The only exception is final scoring after the final round scoring.

Correct, no time markers for removed bots from loading stations.
