This game plays with your heart so much. I love it.
Just started playing after a long break. Only play core campaign once and only made it to LY14 ish before we had to pack it up for life.
Just ticked over LY3 and had only 4 endeavors with a population of 8. I innovated then used the last three for intimacy. Rolled an 8, 9 and 10!
First two went okay I added two population. Last roll with PYT on... You know what I rolled. Net net after all that total pop is still 8.

I know you all seen plenty of time appreciate the community letting me share it anyway.

Not a rant at all I love this game.

Good news is I do have two full rawhide sets and just got the cat eye last hunt. So have decent gear that won't help when I meet the butcher next year. Lol

We were loaded up and ready to fight the butcher.

Population 7 - haven't had any babies yet, so no extra dice for intimacy.

Love Juice - result 2 - minus 1 pop

Cannablize = random basic resource - drew Love Juice

Love Juice Round 2 - result 1 - minus 2 pop

Cannabalize = resource - drew Another love juice

Love Juice Round 3 - result 1 - minus 2 pop

Crazy how lucky we were to draw love juices, and how unlucky we were with intimacy rolls. Went from 7 population to 2 in a matter of minutes.

Oh man! You 'win' the brutality contest on that.

Took 4 new survivors to face Butcher last night. We won! And one got Legend Lungs. Only lost 1 survivor!

While amusing I don't think this chain should've happened in the first place. The FAQ states you don't get your death principle benefits on your first death.

Aside from that; your luck reminds me of a few campaigns where my group couldn't seem to roll above a 2.

My apologies. For some reason I read this as it being his first death. Also ....shouldn't he only have been able to draw 2 love juices as there are only 2 in the deck?

All the baby-making is done in step 7....which is prior to archiving resources in step 9. So, because of order of operations both love juices should've remained in the play/settlement area for the remainder of the develop (step 7) phase.

The whole sequence of events is indeed comical but inconsistent with the order of operations outlined by the rules.

Page 56 of the Rulebook

When a resource is spent, archive the corresponding card.

That means it is shuffled back into the basic resources deck and can be redrawn. Highly unlikely to draw 2 in a row, but possible.

I'm pretty sure we followed the rules.
