Better get you credit card handy then. ASLSK #3 contains both Tiger I and Tiger II. I always preferred the Panther anyway.

So, its a few weeks later and I love the ASL rules!

so much so that I traded away a lot of my collectible wargames to acquire the full rulebooks and a few modules.

Thanks for the recommendations guys, I have only played Inf scenarios so far, but the guns and tanks look very intriguing.

I know

the thing that makes this game so palatable is VASL, I can actually play the game instead of salivating over obscure rules

I read the ASL 2ed RB last night for 2 hours, and I fell asleep dreaming of

Nahverteidigungswaffe and schurzen

Good effort!

I just got my copy of ASLSK1 yesterday, as my first foray into wargaming outside risk.

when I opened the box, i was a little shocked at how small everything is and i thought that isn't many counters, because i was at work i threw all the punched counters into a single ziplock back. haha jokes on me, when i set it up last night to run through some tutorials.... yup i knew this game was evil.

going to have to find a counter solution.

TIGERS!

wow, just WOW!!! German heavy armour is insane!

That was the most fun Ive had yet playing an ASLSK game, but I dont feel like I played well, just rolled lucky, 2 critical hits and one was with a Tiger TK 40 vs 8 AF needed a 32 or less

You mean Michael Wittman , knights cross Tank commander!

not as lucky as the last shot of the game though

tiger rolls a hit and then 6,6 for a dud, next roll with the ROF was 1,1 Critical

A buddy and I like to come up with the most macabre description of a good ASL tank kill:
"Yeah. The turret is blasted 50 ft into the air and it rains guts and limbs for 5 minutes."
"My panther drives by the burning wreck of your Sherman. There is a charred hand sticking out of the commander's hatch..."

Eye-opening, isn't it?

If you move on to full ASL, I heartily recommend that you try ASL Scenario F "The Paw of the Tiger" (it's in the classic scenario set that can be downloaded from MMP's web site).

Two Tigers trying to stop 18 T-34s from crossing three mapboards: 10 turns, German OBA, a German HIP AT gun, and a German 9-1 armor leader! Awesomely fun to play.

ROAR (the website where ASL scenario playings are tracked) has Paw of the Tiger heavily weighted in favor of the Russians, but I'd play the Germans in their Tigers any day. The Germans get an outmanned squad or two and a 37L PAK AT gun with some special ammunition as I remember. I took much delight in the 37L knocking off a T34 on its way to swarm the Tigers, although it was quickly crunched underfoot by the herd of Russian armor on their way to the top of the hill.
