Not much fun to be out of the game completely. Do people generally have him draw another knight card after some delay, or what?

[shrug] YMMV. FWIW, the game shouldn't take that much longer, so if it's possible, catch up on some texts, emails, or chat with the players still in the game.

Strictly speaking, he can immediately (re) join the game in midgame. His playing position will probably change (seated after Arthur). (pg 18)

But do people draw a new Loyalty card? This could result in 2 Traitors... or put a Traitor into play if instead of drawing from the unused part of the deck, he is assigned the leftover card from the initial draw.

Or you could have him keep his initial Loyalty, which might be more fun for the player if he was the Traitor and has been working a nefarious plan. OTOH that might give the Traitor extra lives to spend... thematically that could work -- he's a member of a fanatic cult whos members are willing to die as a pawn within the larger villianous plot.

The designer cleary stated that dead players should not come back with a different knight (otherwise death would not be feared).

Of course, feel free to house rule (but do not be surprised if it needs tweakings to work).

In general, you will not die unless you want to (so play accordingly; e.g. stay at 2 Life or more when Morgana "1 damage" is still in the deck).
