Subject: Variant where Buildings Have Special Powers??? rss

Has anyone given any thought to a variant where the buildings have special powers? In other words, a variant where when you go one type of building you get a special ability. Some I've thought of:

1. Steal a parrot card from a player
2. Force a player to discard a treasure card
3. Get 2 different resources
4. Look at 2 goal cards of an opponent
5. Gain 1 gold
6. A token where you can delay passing without having to change the bid
7. A token where your bid can put the dice in any order

I have not play tested any of this, so I have no idea how it would play out or if this is even a good idea at all. Still, it would seem to me that the better bonus would go to the buildings that give the fewest victory points.

Anyone tried something like this or have any ideas?

I think this would add too much over kill when trying to decide which building to go to. I like your ideas though, I think adding some of this to the Parrot cards would be a better idea.
