How/where can I post an idea of playing all/any versions of the same game in a different way?

There is a variants forum for every game, which is for posting rule variants, house rules, alternate rules, etc.

If you have an idea for a variant for a game that has different versions, and each of those versions has been deemed sufficiently different to have its own entry on the database, there's a few ways to go about it.

1) Post the rules on the latest version's Variants forum.
2) Post the rules on the game family's General forum (game families don't have any other forum).
3) Post on all the versions [not advisable].

Option 1) is probably the best as even people with older versions of the game are likely to look at the newest version for news and other info. You can always mark it "all version" in the heading.

Thanks - trouble is all the games are individual so I think your option 2 will fit best - how do I find the family general forum please.

to use a Family entry
the game must be linked to a Family

example: Conflict of Heroes has 16 linked board games
you can find any linked Families by clicking Full Credits on the game page
.. this link is next to the Rep Image

fyi:
* not all games are linked to a Family entry
* Family submissions are only approved when they have three linked games
