I printed and played the final version from the kickstarter last night. I used the PDF from the download link that was in the post for backers.

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed.

So much seems to have been cut out, and rearranged from earlier iterations of the project and I'm worried that some essential parts have been lost. Overall there is a clunky feel to the story now, and a lot of numbers (items and such) seem to no longer match.

In the following spoilers I highlight 3 of the main problems I encountered, there are more problems, but they were largely superficial.

1:
Spoiler (click to reveal)

Other than item 20, I can't find a way of getting the yellow tile required for talking to Pratt (Other than timing out twice).

This becomes even more of a disaster as you can't get to Mudd because of this.

2:
Spoiler (click to reveal)

Item 2 is now the link to the farm instead of the sheriff's badge, so a massive spoiler has been introduced when you are directed to draw item 2 in the hotel room.

3:
Spoiler (click to reveal)

The password length doesn't link to the right item in the item deck anymore

I am confused. Is this a fan made expansion that someone released for purchase somehow?

Seems bold to me. Are Space Cowboys sanctioning that kind of thing, (If so, good on them - I'd love more good Time Stories adventures)

Where would one purchase said fan-expansion? I have downloaded some free ones but never saw mention of a kickstarter anywhere.

There was a kickstarter for a comic. The artist also did a TIME stories scenario as a tie-in for backers

Is the artist on BGG that I could contact him or her via GM? I am hoping they may have some extra copies and I can purchase one.

I contacted him twice two weeks ago because of the issues and he did not reply although he was online on BGG everyday. He just doesn't care I guess.

Edit: typos

I backed the kickstarter as well and it took me a few weeks and lots of effort to get any reaction from the maker. Eventually I got the final version after asking the kickstartersite to contact him. Haven't played it yet. Thanks John, for your post. Did you look at the rough version as well? Did that seem better to you?

John, please rate the game here at bgg. Because the maker + one other person gave a 9 and a 10 it gets an overall 6.8, while others gave it extreme low scores. I backed the project based on the 6.8

So do you think this is worth printing out? That's disappointing to hear. Is there a way to fix the issues myself after printing that would still make it an enjoyable experience? Don't know whether to print or wait in hope that he will fix the issues and send a new pdf.

Well, I just received the file after paying my dollar via indiegogo and waiting three weeks for the designer to send me the download link. I've printed it out and now I read that it's unplayable.

Is there any chance that those that have played it could provide an errata list? Things that could be changed, like Item references, that would at least make the game somewhat playable?

For instance, thumbing through the cards I found this mistake (spoiler):
Spoiler (click to reveal)

Toro's character card says to look at Item 37 when you spend a state token. But Item 37 is the final scoring card. I'd bet that it actually should be Item 25, which describes Toro's special ability.

So something like that would be easy to update with a good ol' ink pen - scratch out the reference to Item 37 on Toro's card and write in 'Item 25'.

Anyone willing to help us out and do this? Otherwise I'll have to spoil the entire scenario for myself by reading all the cards, searching for mistakes.

Thanks!

(Bounty Hunter is misspelled on Toro's card as well)

Ask TheHunter nicely. He has quite the overview.

I will post a list with the minimal fixes tomorrow, so that "Pariah" will be playable, okay? What really annoys me is the fact that Andres himself doesn't respond on PMs sent and that he has zero interest in fixing the issues by himself. What a shame!

Thank you! I agree, it's a shame that it didn't go out the door with better testing. And it sounds like you've had no success in getting a response - but then it took me three weeks just to get the download link.

I very much appreciate the extra effort on your part to help the rest of us avoid the broken experience you had!

You're wrong on that point. But the most thorough testing is worth nothing if the author doesn't care about feedback...

Ahhh...so you're saying that it was playtested, feedback was given that it was broken, and yet he published it anyway?

Ack! yuk

Are you giving fixes for the playtest version (rough4, if I remember correctly), or the Kickstarter version? Are they the same? Andres talked about making several changes, but from the conversation here it doesn't sound like he did.

I wonder what happened. I recall at least a couple errors that would have been super easy to fix.

And thank you!

This is for the Kickstarter version. He shortened it comapred to the version in spring. There are less items and less locations. Check this thread:
