At the end of the Bios: Genesis rules there is a mention of carrying that games end result into Megafauna and a specific mention of the second edition of Megafauna.

Is there any kind of timescale for this or news or anything?
Missed Megafauna the first time round and would love to pick it up!

I think it means an altogether new game.

Probably no earlier than Essen next year, and obviously delays happen.

From the sounds of it, Megafauna 3.0 is going to be a new game, since apparently the intent is to pick up directly from Genesis.

This would imply an expanded timescale (since BIOS: Megafauna currently picks up from permian extinction, and Genesis ends around the Cambrian explosion or so.

Given the similarities between American Megafauna and BIOS: Megafauna, it's presumably going to be recognisably similar though.

(I'm definitely looking forward to doing the eventual mega-game, Genesis to High Frontier: Interstellar. You can do that now with the current Megafauna and Origins, but from the sound of it, it could be more elegant this time around)

Part K of the Genesis rules details how to combine Bios: Genesis with the first edition of Bios: Megafauna, published in 2011.

A much more intimate flow between the two games will be provided with the 2nd edition Bios: Megafauna, currently in design by Andrew Doull and Jon Manker. Slated release is October 2017. If you wish to be a part of the development team of Bios: Megafauna 2, please send an email to phileklund@gmail.com.

Dom, the game is reverting back to Bios: Megafauna 2 instead of 3.0, because I don't know how to count.

I mean, it's "Megafauna 3" or "BIOS: Megafauna 2", depending on where you want to index from

Since American Megafauna had two editions, and Bios Megafauna had one edition, then this new project is either Megafauna 2 or 4, but 3 is not an option.

Phil, when could you show a graphical prototype of Bios: Megafauna 2nd. edition?
I so want to have this amazing game, but I can't get it here (in Russia), so I'm thinking about a redesign.
Didn't you think about transparent meeples for the animals?

There's going to be Bios: Origins, a new edition of Origins: How We Became Human. Slated for 2018 release (cross your fingers).

There is talk at the moment to add MF2 as an add on to Bios: Genesis the kickstarter campaign. The latest update stated that there is 80% probability of it happening.

"Phil listened to everyone and is currently finalising quotes from manufacturers about Megafauna 2.

By the sounds of things it is looking more likely that we will be able to offer this soon in this campaign. So the chances have gone up from 50:50 to 80:20 to have Megafauna 2 included in this campaign!"

It would seem to me that a separate kickstarter campaign for BMF2 would garner more backers, than piggybacking BG2.
