It seems like starting at the top of the fame track is a much stronger advantage than getting to choose your inventor first. If other players don't "waste" actions moving up the fame track they lose easy access to patents and end of turn stock bonuses.

What about giving players later in turn order a stock price bonus or a cash bonus? If not, that would mean that the inventors are intentionally not balanced?

Despite this our group really enjoyed our first couple plays, really glad to have kickstarted this one!

Going later in the stock market rounds makes up for* the fame order issue.

Also, in lots of rounds players just won't interact on various things, so it's often not a big issue.
