So! I gotta admin I love to sleeve cards!

Now with destiny and all of these dice I was thinking how to protect them!

I am in a bad mood since I need to deal with the fact that we cannot sleeve a die!

Anyway do you have ideas on how to store and protect them?

You could always coat them with brush on sealer. Not sure what that will do to them, though.

Thank God I am not the only one to be concerned
1. Use always a "soft surface" for rolling
2. Try to store them somewhere they do not "move" one on each other
3. isn't that impossible to find a way to "actually" sleeve them all?
don't think so

I am working to solve that exact problem. Wait for my upcoming series on transporting the game on The Chance Cube – A Star Wars: Destiny Podcast. (www.thechancecube.com).

Use spray varnish like folks use to coat miniatures.

Wouldn't putting something permanent on the die make it illegal for tournament use?

Unless you can prove that you uniformly apply the same amount of varnish on each side of the die, you just made that die unfair.

The dice are already sealed, they require no further treatments. Read on the FFG site about the dice - the quality is quite high.

"Sleeving" a die will render it unofficial for tournament play.

I've played this at FFG Worlds already. Trust us when we say the die quality is high. It may not be heavy, but it is already sealed. The pictures on the die will not fade.

From the article:

Quote:
What makes the dice different?

Unlike many games, the dice in Star Wars: Destiny do not use stickers. Instead, the dice are plastic-injected like normal dice and rolled in a tumbler to add a fine, smooth polish to every die. The images on each side are then physically heat-pressed onto the dice, essentially printing the artwork directly onto the plastic. Finally, the die is covered in a scratch-resistant coating, allowing you to roll these dice without their quality deteriorating.

Not for play but for storage:
UltraPro Clear Boxes that holds 50card can store perfectly 12 dice.
Ultimate Guard Deck Cases have a small drawer can store 12 dices too among your deck.

My best option is Ultimate Guard Twin Flip'n,Tray with a 25 Ultra Pro 25 cards clear box and a Ultra Pro 50 card clear box.

I store the deck plus replacements cards on the main drawer, 12 dice on the mini drawer, and 50card ultra pro clear box with replacement dice on the secondary compartment and a 25 ultra pro clear box with tokens on the secondary too.
