Do they behave like convoy escorts and pop from port to sea area?

That's how I play them. Under 8.9 they can't be intercepted and they obviously have the range. I move them in the naval movement phase or end phase. 7.5 only covers allied DD/DE/CL/CVE/CV so they shouldn't really go in the convoy escort box but its a little more convenient than leaving them in the sea zone. I think the German should have a port on the Atlantic or North Sea to base them. Not the Baltic if Denmark is allied control and not the Mediterranean if Gibraltar is allied control. It's odd their movement isn't explicitly dealt with.

Thanks! Glad you are on this board. This is a tough game to wrap my head around and remember everything. I did the first four scenarios and now i have the campaign set up. Lets see how far i can go. I already have found that 2 naval search groups isn't enough in the north and south Atlantic.
