I grew up in Phoenix, and remember this game being advertised on local TV. I think the name was Pirate's Treasure". The board was double layered. The top board had holes in it, and the bottom board could be rotated so that the pictures on it would appear under different holes each game. There were gold plastic "coins" that snapped into each hole, and had different numbers embossed on their undersides, like 10, 20, 40. The board style was like Husker Du, but you moved around on paths until you reached a hole, lifted the coin, and revealed either a pirate (bad news) or some gold. Does anyone else remember this game?

There's a listing for Pirate Treasure published in 1970 that sounds like it. No pictures though.
