The chaos bag is really just a multi-sided dice with different values on the faces.

Can anyone recommend an Android dice-rolling app that lets you configure the number of "faces" (tokens), and the values on those faces?

An equivalent would be an app that lets you create customisable Twister spinners.

No, but I've written my first Android app, and this one should be pretty easy to make one specific to the game.

You'd need to be able to set the contents of the bag, then simply draw one at P(1/n).

Maybe after my dissertation defense I'll write a free app to do this. (But someone else will probably beat me to it...)

This one looks useful: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.boardnaut....
I haven't tried it yet though.

I also plan to dev one for Android, but by the time I get to it there will already be a couple released.

No preset for Rougarou yet, but it's a really nice, simple and clean interface, so it's easy to edit.

Not an app, and requires an internet connection. But thanks for sharing.

This is great! Thankyou!

This weekend I'll have a crack at making some AH dice faces and loading them up to the Geeklist that is tracking the various dice sets that are available for this app:

No thanks. Normally I am all for a computer assistance in boardgames (the old AH games of the 80's or XCom the boardgame etc ...) but MoM2 was so badly implementated that I got sick of staring at a screen 60% of the time...

So leave this game on card play and tokens. It doesn't need a screen at all.

I just finished the app I wrote because I was tired of reaching into a bag and never being sure if there was one token stuck in the corner...

Here you go! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cornbread....

My problem is I can't get myself to trust the odds for these apps. I just tried both of those given here and the first one gave 4 "+1"s out of the first 5 draws, and the other gave 5 "-1"s out of the first 6 draws. Obviously, that's possible with real tokens in a bag, but it makes me skittish anyway!

This is not uncommon. I hear similar things from people with regards to shuffling with physical cards vs online card games. As long as there are no bugs with the contents of the list you are selecting from, the apps are using well established, industry standard algorithms. My app uses the Java Random utility library - if there was a problem it would've been found considering how widely used it is.

If you're seeing statistically unlikely results for small sample sizes, just keep the history going and check the histogram after 100, or 1000 pulls and see how much closer it is. I ran tests with 10000 pulls and it looks fine.

Are there any cases where you have to draw several tokens, without putting them back in the bag? Hence probability would change for each subsequent draw (and therefore a dice would be inappropriate). This is the way it is implemented here: http://lotr-lcg-quest-companion.com/all_chaosbags.php

I hadn't played enough of the campaign yet to know, but I was informed that yes, there are cases where you draw multiple tokens without replacement. I've since added that feature to the app, but you're right - dice aren't going to work well for that.
