Anyone came with an idea for a solo player variant?
Since R&B has got one, maybe it is possible here...

I cannot see how that would work very well. First of all there's the bidding for turn order that would be obsolete and then the fight for Gods, resources and special abilities that wouldn't work with one either. It's not an optimisation game.

Why not? We need just a ticking machine, a clock.

i.e. each turn the neutral player removes a random specialist.

Each turn - unless the player choose a God - the neutral player uses a God not yet chosen by the player and discards it. The player pays VR for the God removed.

For the spatial game, maybe something like scythe, with the neutral player taking space with monuments near resources and expanding from the llayer monument.

Resources: for each neutral monument it consume a resource

....

Have you played the game yet?

Consuming resources and losing specialists aren't really part of the challenge of the game. Understanding and exploiting the system that your opponents have set up is the challenge.

Yes I played it, so I hoped in something like "time's running, map is shrinking, opportunities are expiring, catch quickly the VR"

I know it doesnt make sense, I just hoped I could play alone before we meet again. I love this game, more than R&B

Really, honestly, with as much understanding as I can muster for the plight of the solo gamer: go play a different game. The Great Zimbabwe is fundamentally not a single player game, is not about optimisation, and lacks structures to that effect, making it really hard to create a solo mode. In effect you'd be developing an entirely new game. So with that in mind it simply makes more sense to start with a game that supports what needs to be in a solo game for it to 'tick'.

I'd play a three-player solo game. Great way to learn.
