Hi I'm doing research about German boardgames and wonder there's any games that are related to World War ll.

As I know there's only few games. But if you know some of them, would you list them as many as you know?

Thank you.

Welcome to BGG.

Are you interested in games produced before the conflict or during the war?

Here is an example:

Adler Luftverteidigungsspiel

There are a number of other items in the BGG database.

Using advanced search, try looking at games published between certain years... perhaps 1935 to 1943.

Good Luck.

World War 2 is still a forbidden topic to many in Germany, and it wouldn't appeal to the domestic market.

Also many aspects are forbidden to be printed eg: symbology.

I would contact the european society of game-collectors http://www.e-s-g.eu/
They should know about every topic of board games and are even doing exhibitions.

If you don't need tweezers to play the game, it is not a wargame!

Battle of Britain as envisioned by the Germans in 1925.

There are actually 4 games in this series made in the 1920's. The 4th game (Tri Tactics) combines the previous 3. The originals had metal stands.

They were reissued in the 1970's with plastic stands.

Well, WW2 (or 3rd Reich) is not a forbidden topic and it is ignored or hushed up in schoold or public discourse. However, it is certainly not an appealing topic and I am sure that this theme would rather decrease sales compared to other conflicts. I also do not know any game by a german designer about that topic (well, Imperial is at least connected to WW1). I am also not aware of games taking a critical approach to this topic (like Freedom: The Underground Railroad does for differnt rather delicate topic).
